The aim is to find a shared response to the challenges facing Europe, which now call for concrete action. Attractiveness policies are today a concern for public and private-sector groups that include :
Regions and cities together with their investment promotion agencies.
Businesses, including both SMEs and multinational firms.
Representatives of civil society including unions, academics, experts, economists and journalists
Member States, their governments, parliaments and Investment Promotion Agencies.
Representatives of the European Commission and Parliament who meet at La Baule to exchange views, put their arguments and make recommendations.
Each year, some 900 high-level international executives and decision makers attend the conference.
